The Mammal Research Unit at the University of Bristol is dedicated to the study of mammalian conservation, ecology, population biology and sociobiology. It was founded in the late 1970s by Professor Stephen Harris.

The unit is probably best known for longstanding research on Bristol's urban foxes, but its members also conduct studies on a wide range of other species, both in Britain and other countries throughout the world.
