Other species: other records for China include H. fulvus (Yunnan), and H. turpis (Wang 2003) though the validity of these records is uncertain. Smith & Xie (2008) also list H. lylei from Yunnan, and H. grandis (Yunnan), on the basis that it has a shorter ear length than H. larvatus, although the reliability of this is not clear.
